Cosmetic mole removal using the Ellman Surgitron radiosurgery device may be an option to discuss during a consultation. This device uses radiofrequency energy delivered through a fine wire loop, allowing certain benign skin growths to be carefully reduced at the surface of the skin.
Following the procedure, the treated area typically resembles a small graze, which may heal over approximately 7 to 10 days. Sutures are generally not required. Healing outcomes and the appearance of the skin after treatment can vary between individuals.
WHICH MOLES CAN BE CONSIDERED?
- Only benign moles or skin tags may be suitable for this approach
- A skin cancer check is recommended prior to considering treatment
- Flat moles or freckles are generally not suitable
- Any mole that has changed in colour, shape, or size should be assessed by a doctor and not treated cosmetically
